Southern Land Group was born out of a mutual fondness for timber land.  Butch Vines and John White joined together 20 years ago as partners on East Texas Timberland.  Butch had spent years as a logger in Southwest Mississippi before moving into the land business.  Those years of logging have given Butch a key advantage at being able to value timberland and timber investments.  John started his real estate career as an appraiser before working the commercial market developing shopping centers from Jacksonville, FL to Lake Charles, LA.  John grew up in New Orleans, LA and spent his childhood days on his farm in South Mississippi.  With a strong commercial background for John and a timber background for Butch this was a blending of talents.   Southern Land Group was founded in 2010 as Butch and John merged their operating companies into one super company.  Since the early 2000’s the companies of Butch and John have bought and sold thousands of acres of timberland from East Texas to Mississippi, developed waterfront subdivisions in Texas and luxury living estates in Mississippi.  They have created diverse recreational property suited to every individual buyer.  With a staff of capable and energetic employees willing to help you with your land buying purchase let Southern Land Group build your dream property.
